It’s not hard to enjoy the fall season in the Outer Banks. Locals and visitors from near and far often pine for this time of year on the ‘ribbon of sand’ to experience the crisp air, gorgeous skies, and especially remarkable views that only come this season. For these reasons, fall is is the perfect time to get excited about art whether you enjoy finding unique pieces or creating art of your own. Here are a few tips from us how you can catch the “art spark” during this magical time of the year.
Tip #1: Get some good eatin’!
Did you know that fall is the best season to catch seafood in the Outer Banks? Experiencing the taste of fresh red drum just caught off the boat is an experience like no other. And getting a taste of the local culture really helps for artistic inspiration! You can request for local seafood at a restaurant, or catch some yourself at the beach or on one of the piers.
Tip #2: Turn on the music.
Did you know there are lots of musical events in the Outer Banks during the fall? From jazz to bluegrass, you can sample a variety of talent at several areas that are annually held this time of year. Or if you’ve missed a live performance, why not listen to a few favorite tunes while driving down the Beach Road? Feel free to visit Seaside Art Gallery along the way!
Tip #3: Browse through an art gallery.
Experiencing the creative work of other artists is an excellent strategy that works any time of the year to cure the “art block” that ails you. Seaside Art Gallery carries lots of art pieces inspired by the fall – you can even take a look at them online before you get there.
Tip #4: Learn a new skill.
Why not go to an art class that’s held in the fall? Fall art classes are great for artists at any skill level. Beginners will learn how to get started, and experienced artists can pick up new tips from the professionals. From painting classes to ceramics mentoring to bead making, there’s always something to do that’s tied to art in the Outer Banks!
Tip #5: Step out on the beach and do nothing.
This may sound strange, but it’s true! Sometimes the best ways to get inspired come from planning to do nothing at all. Simply walking along the unspoiled beaches and taking in fall’s natural beauty can do wonders for the creative mind.
As one can see, sources abound in the Outer Banks to feed your creative side in the fall. For more tips, tricks, and ideas about getting inspired by art, ask our friendly professionals at Seaside Art Gallery. Feel free to take a piece of the inspiration with you from our collection of hundreds of pieces. And enjoy fall at the Outer Banks!
